Internet Society A good starting point
IETF - The Internet Engineering Task Force and their working groups create many Internet standards (called RFC's)
Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). Allocates all types of Internet numbers (such as IP #s)
RFC's (Documents the Internet's Standards) - Also see the RFC Editor.
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)
ITU - International Telecommunication Union.
Normos: Internet Engineering Standards Repository - a great integrated site of internet-related standards from RFCs, ISO, IANA,
World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) They suggest the standards for web protocols such as HTML. Here is a useful page of theirs: page of HTTP Protocol Information.
Protocol.com - Defines Protocols for LAN, WAN, ATM ,DATA - A nice site which also has this cool poster (pdf).
